The Lovely Arran Coastal Way – an essential part of many Isle of Arran Holidays
The Arran Coastal Way is widely regarded as one of ‘Scotland’s Great Trails’ and is the 29th Long Distance Route (LDR) to be listed as such. To be included in this list of Scotland’s Great Trails these routes must meet certain qualifying criteria. For example, each trail must be at least 25 miles long and largely off-road with a clearly defined path for walkers to follow. The routes all have a high standard of waymarking and signage in place, with a range of visitor services along the way and an online presence with information to help all kinds of visitors plan a trip.
Our holiday apartment on Arran is situated on the Lagg to Whiting Bay stretch of the walk, at Kildonan. Our self catering holiday apartment on Arran is formerly a church, the Scottish name for a church is a “kirk” hence our building is called the Kirk at Kildonan.
We are happy to help walkers to make the journey more enjoyable by filling flasks and providing packed lunches by prior arrangements.
