Isle of Arran holiday Cottages are lovely but can be quite small – here’s an alternative.

If you are interested in Isle of Arran holiday cottages may we make a suggestion to you? Our self catering Arran apartment is very flexible as it can be booked with 1, 2 or 3 bedrooms to suit the size of your group – no more paying for more space than you actually need. The main apartment is completely self contained and the other 2 bedrooms are in our bed and breakfast wing but we currently do not let these separately – only as add-ons to the main apartment – although this may change as Covid restrictions are lifted.

The Kirk at Kildonan Arran holiday apartment is situated next to the Eas Mor Waterfall project and you can cross the road outside our gate to enter this lovely space where you will not only find the huge Eas Mor Waterfall but also the Eas Mor power project and miles of beautiful woodland walks.

The beach at Kildonan is only a few minutes walk, (although it does take longer coming back since we are located half way up a hill). There’s plenty of free parking next to the beaches at Kildonan so you can load up with all your beach gear and make a day of it. Kildonan Beach offers the usual sand and sea plus dramatic rock formations and a wealth of wildlife – time to become an “otter spotter” or maybe you will see the seals – take the binoculars if you have a pair as these lovely creatures really are a sight for sore eyes.

A sight for sore eyes – the Kirk at Kildonan overlooks the beach at Kildonan and the lighthouse island of Pladda.

We are also located on the Arran Coastal Way walking trail – a challenging yet very rewarding 65-mile / 105 kilometre long circular route that takes you around the beautiful Isle of Arran. This lovely walk is packed with wonderful wildlife and sensational scenery making it the perfect route for a week-long walking holiday. The route can also be divided into smaller  sections and there are plenty of other attractions to visit along the way as part of your Arran holiday – find out more here.

If you were to take the round the island route as a car journey you should allow about 2 hours plus and stopping time – and there will be plenty of that since there is a lot to see!
